Please, read these instructions to log in to your class account
You have a separate account for each computer science class you are taking. Your user name is the first letter of your first name + the first letter of
your middle name + two first letters of your last name + a class number.
Your password will be generated automatically and distributed at the beginning of the class.
If a student takes several computer science classes, initial password will be the same for each class.
Irina ( room 427, irina@miami.edu ) has all initial passwords in case you did not get it during your class.
Students, who registered late, has to request an account by e-mail to irina@miami.edu.
Please provide your class #, C number and a full name
For example:
John David Smith from CSC234 name will be assigned a user name jdsm234. Albert J. White from CSC120 will be assigned a user name ajwh120If you do not have a middle name, your user name is the first letter of your first name + 3 frist letters of your last name.
For example:
The user name of Valery Pandre from CSC400 will be vpan400
If you do not have a middle name AND your last name consists of less than 3 letters, your user name will be the first two letters of
your first name + the first two letters of your last name
For example:
The user name of Yan Li from CSC233 will have user ID yali233
If your name does not fall into any of these categories, please see Irina Kaliman in room 427 ( across the Linux Lab ) or e-mail me at irina@miami.edu
NOTE!
Please change your initial password after you log in using the command yppasswd. Follow the instructions in http://www.cs.miami.edu/~irina/password.html
Note, that we are now using a student ID not a Social Security Number.
