Ruby Immersion

A combined course & bootcamp for the development of software products using modern development tools and languages, in the context of the technology culture that informs, funds, and markets these products.

Ruby Foundations

Objectives: To understand software as a service and 4th generation computer languages through Ruby and Rails. To engage in leading edge tech tools and techniques such as Agile Development, Heroku and GitHub. To be a fast and competent coder. This portion of the course is held at the University of Miami with Professor Rosenberg.

Tech Immersion

Objectives: To immerse students in the Miami tech community while helping them develop the soft skills needed to be successful in a business technology environment. To conceive, implement and present a prototype webapp to the Miami tech community, at "pitch day". This portion of the course is given with Wyncode, at The Lab Miami in Wynwood.

Tech Ground Zero

This course, a unique combination of academic computer science rigor and coding bootcamp intensity, brings you to ground zero of Miami's start-up culture of innovation and entrepreneurialism.

This is among the first experiences in the nation combining a traditional academic curriculum with the new wave of coding bootcamps.

How to enroll

Enroll in UM CSC – 300 Summer 1; and enroll with Wyncode directly for the two week Immersion continuation. The total cost for the May 18 — July 10 seven week course is 3 UM credits + $1990 Wyncode tuition.

The immersion component will show on your UM transcript as 1 restricted credit through the Toppel Internship Program (you will be auto-enrolled in TIP).
