    Computational and data-intensive methods are transforming scientific discovery. The complexity and heterogeneity of scientific data has revealed the limitations of current data analysis techniques to support reasoning and the decision-making process in today's multidisciplinary problems. Visualization, as an integral component of the data analysis task, can significantly facilitate the exploration, characterization and communication of the data and the uncertainty associated with it.

    My area of research encompasses a combination of elements from data science, statistical analysis, and scientific visualization. The overarching goal of my research is to make the best use of advances in these scientific disciplines to design novel and comprehensive data analysis paradigms.

    I expect my research to promote advances in understanding and representing complex data with an impact on a variety of disciplines including but not limited to scientific visualization, medical image analysis, simulation sciences, atmospheric science, and applied mathematics.
